All Things Work Together

That moment when you find out how big a JERK you have been to your Creator. Yep! Had a wakeup call and had to find the floor to repent. For so long I have blamed God for closing certain doors and for taking certain things away from me. Yes I love Jesus, but if I’m going to be honest, I would have to say somedays I question His judgment.

He constantly reminds me that “the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” Rom 8:28

How many times have we heard this and shook our heads and say yep, everything works out for good, just not for me. That’s where I was.

I recently had a conversation with a complete and total stranger, only to find out that the dreams God has given me for the last several years have been an answer to prayer that I keep slugging on heaven’s door about. Like WOW! Really?! It’s one thing to have a prophetic word and them wonder if it will ever happen or if you screwed it up. But it’s a complete other thing to be talking to someone who is confirming much of what God has spoken to you in your prayer closet and they have NO IDEA how accurate they are.

I’m in tears! How sweet is the love of Jesus to have MERCY on us in our hot-headed moments. How kind of Him to still love and adore us even when we have no grounds to be upset and mad at Him.

I know I might just be talking to myself on this one, but if you can relate then I want you to cry out to God right where you are and apologize. Apologize and forgive God for being a know it all. Yes, when we act as if we know better than what God has for us, that’s how we come off.

He’s not mad at you! And the things that He withhold from you is truly for your good. Lord help us to see things your way and to trust you completely. And thank you for revelation!

I have a Confession to Make

Last week I took up the challenge that I would not complain for a week. The deal was that I would go for the next three days without complaining but giving God praise instead.

This all came about after I found out that a friend I really trusted betrayed me, in what he thought was the best interest of all parties.  Yes, at first, I was POed and at the same time, wonder why on Earth God would allow me to know this information years after the fact.

Well, it was in the midst of this chaotic event that I was speaking with my accountability partner and the idea of giving thanks instead of complaining popped in my head.

So, I set my mind and thoughts on giving thanks.

Wouldn’t you know that the following three days all I found myself doing was just whining, complaining and moaning.

It was embarrassing to say the least.

Today the Holy Spirit took a hold of me and reminded me that the reason I felt off track was that I was unfocused. Somewhere along the road, I allowed others to speak junk into my life and I agreed and started speaking junk to myself.

I’m grateful that God is able to help me get back on focus, because on this journey to finding yourself, you somedays have to put blinders on.

Be encouraged, confess what’s happening in your world and when you fall down, get back up again. FOCUS and in your focus and taking action, you will reap a harvest.

Leave a comment below on how you have cope with being in similar situations.

Angry At God!

Yesterday, I felt so angry at God. Yep, you read that right!

I yelled, pouted and bawled my eyes out, all but shook my fist at Him.

Why God? Why not me? What have I done to deserve this? Please tell me! Am I missing something?

You said in your word (Psalm 84:11) that no good thing will you withhold from those who love  you. I love you so much, but why does it feel like you are holding things back from me?

Needless to say it was a long day and I was miserable to be around.

The problem was that I had seen another little girl looked at me with cute dough eyes and another pregnant mom glowing in her beauty. And I was having a melt down that day about not being a mom and why it seemed to me that God was withholding something good.

Later that day I happened to stumbled upon Heb 4:15 which paraphrased says we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are and he didn’t sin. I began to get a check in my spirit about my terrible attitude so I brought this up in a discussion with my husband. His revelation was priceless and so refreshing to me.

My hubby brought back to my remembrance just how much Christ suffered in agony on the way to the Cross. How he prayed and cried, because He was about to do something he didn’t want to do. In that same way that Jesus had life kept from him, the same principle applies in my situation.

Finally, my hubby said to me “honey you are not dead, so just like Sarah, God still has time to work in your life”

Look at it this way, if you got a cut on your pinky finger, it’s different than if someone else got a cut on their thumb, but you can relate to the person. In much the same way, the pain and suffering Christ endured on that Cross covered all my sin and pain that I now endure, He is able to understand them.

I love God’s sense of humor because a few days later, a really good friend of mine brought this very same verse to my attention.

This time I had a much different perspective and I’m determined to give God praise whether or not our family is multiplied.

He doesn’t need our praise to be God. He’s God all by Himself.

Whatever situation you are dealing with, know that He has yours under control as well. Talk to him. Tell him how you’re feeling. You don’t need eloquent words. God’s ok if you yell at Him. He’s ok if you pour out all of your frustrations and say some unkind stuff. His shoulders are big enough for that burden.

Then we need to trust that He knows what He’s doing and that all things will work out for good.
